The Club Today.

CJFC are proud to be an FA accredited Charter Standard Club.

The FA Charter Standards Clubs programme, supported by the FA's Community Partner McDonalds, was launched in 2001 and is a core component of the FA Football Development programme. The project is aimed at children under 16 years of age and will help them and their parents find a club in their community that meets FA standards of coaching, administration, development and child protection.

To reach and maintain Charter Standard the Club must meet certain criteria, namely :-

  • A written constitution.
  • Self-certified screening of managers, coaches and officials.
  • All managers to have a minimum of FA Level 1 Award.
  • Commitment to attend in-service training.
  • Acceptance and promotion of Codes of Conduct.
  • Commitment to provide mini-soccer at U10 level.
  • Commitment to promote equal opportunities for all and Child Protection.

In addition to this basic criteria the Club has adopted the FA Child Protection Policy and Procedures and has a nominated Welfare Officer.

We pride ourselves on our excellent disciplinary record, both on and off the pitch, to such an extent that internal discipline procedures have been drawn up to ensure that Codes of Conduct are adhered to at all levels, and that we continue to set an example to visiting teams.

We are not, never have and never will be a win at all costs Club. The emphasis is on enjoyment in a competitive environment. Pressure should not be exerted on young player's performance or results. According to the FA's own statistics more junior players quit the game because of pressure from parents and coaches than any other reason. In the words of ‘the special one' Jose Mourinho "When you work with kids you work with fragile minds and personalities, so you must be careful not to take their confidence away"

The 2006/7 season saw 14 teams from U7s to U16s representing the Club in 5 different leagues. The Club would like to express its thanks to the players, managers, assistants and spectators who contributed to their team's endeavours during the season.
