Both teams got off to a fantastic start to the season with resounding wins at Dukinfield Town. The B Team played first and stunned the home team when Stephen scored from a good pass across the face of goal by Sean. After that the goals went in fast and furious and we were winning 4-0 at half time – Jordan Bamford scored two individual goals and Nathan scored with a 10 yard shot. After half time the game went a little quiet until Jordan returned and scored another from a fine individual run through the defence.

All players played well and showed that they too can pass well at times. The players that stood out in a fine match were Nathan, who won the man of the match, and Stephen both running strongly and putting in some good passes, and captain Danny who again set the spirit by doing all he was asked. He was strong at the back and made several clearing runs from the back – and was unlucky not to score.

The A Team won 6-0 with two goals each for Mark, Liam and Jack Martin. All three were superb in attack but the team couldn’t be split – all played well. Dillan caught the eye with some good tackling and super passes from the back straight to the feet of the front players. It was from one of these that Jack scored one of his goals. The man of the match was Joseph, who again put in a fine performance on the wing, running strongly, passing well and ultimately unlucky not to score himself.

But on a fine opening day everyone deserved a pat on the back. Keep it up lads!
