On the 3^rd October we played Heyside in the cup and this time it was revenge! After the disappointment of last week there was no way we were losing this one today. We had Ryan and Warren back and the lads were really fired up. This was converted when Mikey put us in the lead after a few minutes. From that moment there was never any doubt.

Ryan made it two. Sam made a clearance to warren, who passed it on to Danny. He then put a brilliant ball up the wing to James who did well to get on it. He shrugged off the defender and crossed into the box for manager’s man of the match Ryan to hit into the bottom corner.

Ryan was playing very well. He was battling hard on the wing. Liam, Danny, James and Mikey were also putting in some good play. It was James who scored the third with a good shot into the bottom corner.

Heyside scored next but it was only through a stroke of luck when Ben slipped allowing them an easy knock in. Up to then and for the remainder of the match man of the match, Ben and the defence of Sean, Sam, Connor and Warren had looked invincible.

James scored his second to allay any feelings Heyside may have had of a repeat performance. This, again, came from the brilliance of Ryan. He shot up the wing and put in a superb ball for James to shoot from the edge of the area and watch as the ball rolled into the net.

The final goal quite aptly went to Ryan who had had a fine game. Again he blistered down the wing before unleashing a fantastic shot from outside the area. The keeper had no chance. When it hit the top corner it crowned the game for us. A brilliant goal to cap a brilliant performance.

There is no doubt that Ryan and Warren made the difference today. We definitely missed them last week. Ryan pressured down the wing all match and was dangerous with some great balls through and across. But there was no way we were losing today. All showed grit and determination. We played good football and defended well.
