Match Report by Gary Fitton

2 excellent games today against the league leaders with a narrow win and narrow loss for the lads

March 24th 2012 – Delamere Rangers
Chaddy FC Jnrs B 1 – 2 Delamere Rangers B

Goal – Jake

MOM – Zack Smith – Another excellent display at the back

An excellent game today that ended in a narrow defeat for the team as they battled hard against the league leaders who counted Micheal Jordan in their ranks (the lad was certainly tall enough to pass for the basketball legend). Both teams settled quickly with both creating chances to take the lead, but Delamere were the first to strike as their lad cut inside from the touch line and fired a shot in from a narrow angle that got deflected into the goal. 0-1 and the lads went onto the attack with Danny coming closest to equalising as a cross from Jake got diverted towards goal only for the keeper to scramble it clear. Half time and Delamere had the advantage despite the lads best efforts.

Second half followed the same pattern with the lads working to create chances winning several corners, however Delamere doubled their lead as we lost the ball in midfield and left their forward unmarked for a simple finish making it 0-2. Not disheartened by this the team fought back hard and pulled a goal back as Jake scored with a speculative shot that the keeper failed to stop allowing us back in the game. 1-2 but with the clock ticking down we didn’t have enough time to get an equaliser to level the game.

A great performance today from the lads and with only 1 game left it has been a great season and a season in which the team has taken great strides forward.

Chaddy FC Jnrs A 1 – 0 Delamere Rangers A

Goals – Louis Hammond

MOM – Ben – Another great defensive display from Ben which even the Delamere coaches acknowledged.

Another great game but this time we ran out the winners as the lads put 100% effort in to keep a clean sheet and take the win. The game was played in a similar vein as the first one with both sides working hard to get a grip of the game. The first half finished 0-0 as both teams mainly cancelled each other out with both midfields having a good battle, but with neither getting the upper hand.

Second half and the game opened up as both teams created chances but with Delamere getting closest to scoring with some good efforts on goal that Josh was equal to as he reacted quickly in his box to danger and made some great reaction saves. As time wore on it was looking like the spoils would be shared and then Louis picked up the ball on the left, cut inside beating his man. The Delamere defence then opened up and he fired a great shot into the back of the Delamere net. 1-0 and with only a minute left on the clock, little time for Delamere to respond giving us the points.

A great display and a great goal from Louis

Cup day today so I have chosen to combine the reports since it is aggregate scores for the fixtures

March 10th 2012 – Medlock Rangers
Chaddy FC Jnrs 3 – 3 Medlock Rangers
Chaddy won 3-2 on penalties

Goals – Lewis, Louis, and own goal from Medlock

The A team started today against Medlock Rangers followed by the B team in what turned out to be a great cup tie with own goals, several hits on the woodwork, followed by a great fightback, and all rounded off with a nail biting penalty shoot out.

First game and the lads started slowly but gradually started to come to terms with a physical Medlock team, however Medlock got the first goal as their lad upfront hit a great shot into the bottom corner of the net 0-1 to Medlock, which was how it stayed up to half time. Second half we unfortunately gave them an own goal as they whipped the ball into the box with the attempted clearance going the wrong way. 0-2 but plenty of time to recover as the A team put in an outstanding last 15 minutes which got kick started by another own goal. This time it was Medlock who scored as Lewis challenged for a header with their defender who diverted the ball into his own net, and this started the fight back. Next up Connor made a fantastic run down the right hand side and whipped a perfect low cross in for Lewis who came sliding in to add the finish and bring the scores level. Chaddy were now on top and Medlock were creaking under the relentless pressure. The fightback was complete when Louis added a third as he scored into the bottom corner from the right hand side of the box.

A 3-2 lead was then taken into the second game were the lads started with an immediate handicap as they were told to remove their fleeces from under their shirts. This meant some of the lads were now freezing due to only having their Chaddy tops on. The game started and the lads soon went 0-1 behind which levelled the scores at 3-3 but once they had got warmed up they soon went on the attack creating several chances. The first few came from 3 corners were 2 nearly went straight in as they where curled in. The third was a quick one taken early to Danny Johnson who got a great header that whacked against the crossbar. Despite this pressure it remained 3-3. Second half and with the wind against us it was like the Alamo as Medlock peppered our goal with shots as we struggled to clear the ball against a very strong wind. Going into the last 7 minutes we stepped up a gear in midfield and began to apply pressure looking for the winning goal. We created several chances in the closing minutes but the goal didn’t come and so it came down to the dreaded penalties!!!.

The penalties went as follows:
Medlock scored 0-1
Rahim saved 0-1
Medlock saved by Josh 0-1
George scored 1-1
Medlock scored 1-2
Jake scored 2-2
Sudden death after 3 each
Medlock missed 2-2

Rahim scored 3-2 The crowd went wild the kids fell in a mass pile with Josh and Rahim at the bottom (we are still looking for them as the rescue teams were sent into the pile 36 hours ago now!!!)

Well done lads and into the semi final against Waterloo

Match Report by Gary Fitton

Two good wins today and two great performances against a strong Spurley Hey side that gives us a much needed 4 points today.

Feb 25th 2012 – Spurley Hey

Chaddy FC Jnrs B 1 – 0 Spurley Hey B

Goal - Jake

MOM – Zack – 1 slip up followed by 30 minutes of majesty.

A return to form today for the lads in an excellent performance against Spurley Hey as we ran out 1-0 winners collecting a well needed 2 points. The game started evenly with both teams working hard and looking for openings, but the lads at the back have listened to us in training and held position far better ensuring that Spurley got very few chances on goal. The first opening came as Jake collected the ball and put a low cross across goal for Michael who slid in but was unlucky to see the ball bounce wide of the upright. Further chances were created but not clear cut ones as we held the ball in midfield to long allowing Spurley to get numbers back to defend and crowd us out. Half time and 0-0 with everything to play for in the second half.

Second half and the lads upped their game and started to pressure the Spurley goal and soon took the lead as Danny J had a shot which the keeper failed to hold allowing Jake to follow in and bundle the ball over the line. 1-0 and the lads started to create more with Jake hitting the post, and Danny F seeing the keeper make a couple of saves after some good work. This was possible thanks to some great work from Danny J who listened to us and did a great job in winning the ball in midfield and then quickly releasing it for the forwards so well done Danny J.

At the back Zack swept everything up well which allowed Ubaida and Rahim to make the odd forage higher up the pitch to support the midfield.

All in all an excellent display by the lads and a great 2 points earned.

Chaddy FC Jnrs A 3 – 1 Spurley Hey A

Goals – Dane, Conner, Lewis

MOM – Dane – Worked well and scored a great goal.

A good win for the lads today with 3 goals scored on the break from Spurley Hey corners. The game started like the first with both teams matching each other and with Spurley just having the best of the opening exchanges. The lads had to work hard at the back with some good defending leading to Spurley winning several corners. However it was these corners that became Spurleys undoing as we broke with pace clearing their corners. The first goal came as Connor who held his position well out on the right picked up the ball from a quick pass out of defence and ran through beating his man to score in the opposite corner of the net. A good goal and a blow for Spurley who had started so well. Half time and 1-0 to the lads.

Second half carried on in the same vein and we doubled our lead as Dane picked up the ball from defence, beat two player and crashed a great drive into the net. 2-0 and the lads gained in confidence and quickly made it 3-0 as Louis Broke from midfield and fired the ball in which the keeper parried only to see Lewis come in at the back post and convert with his left foot. Spurley pulled one back after a very messy scramble in our box but that was all they managed as the lads took 2 points from the game.

Well done both teams and the 4 points gained today puts us equal second with Reddish Villa in the table with 2 games in hand on them.

Match report by Gary Fitton

A loss for the B team in a good game were they did everything but score, and a hard fought 0-0 draw for the A team today.

Feb 18th 2012 – Chaddy FC Jnrs B 0 – 2 Reddish Villa B

MOM – Ubaida – Worked hard and took the training ground work onto the pitch today.

Today was just one of those days for the B team today as we played Reddish Villa who currently lie second in the league. First half we started well with some good movement upfront and were unlucky to see the ball cleared off the line after Jake crossed the ball in and Michael side footed the ball on goal only for the last man to clear it. That clearance sort of set the tone for us as I reckon if we were still playing now the ball wouldn’t have gone in for us!!. Reddish got the first goal after we failed to clear the ball which was bouncing around in our area allowing their
lad to get a toe on it. The second came from a long clearance which we missed and allowed their lad through on goal which he made no mistake with. 0-2 at half time and with it all to do in the second half.

Second half started and our luck in front of goal was appalling today. We had another cleared off the line, Danny Johnson saw another great shot hit Jake and bounce wide, and Danny F saw a good touch and shot hit the side netting. The game finished 0-2 but as said before we did everything but score, especially in the second half, but that’s football and we move on and continue to work at our game

Well done lads and lets make sure we keep working and more importantly keep smiling!

Chaddy FC Jnrs A 0 – 0 Reddish Villa A

MOM – Conner – Led the line well and held position well creating space for the team

This was one of those games where it was clear that one goal would be enough to win it. Unfortunately neither team got that goal and the score was a very creditable and entertaining 0-0. Both teams created chances with Connor leading the line well and using the space on the right to good effect. Lewis and Dane also worked well with Conner but we just couldn’t find the clear cut opening to score.

Reddish had similar problems as Ben, Oliver, and Luis ensured their way to goal was barred and so the game progressed with neither side able to get on top. The coaches from the side did their best to push the lads forward as Ivan managed to spur himself up from the comfort of his deckchair and wobble up and down the side lines with his stick, but alas we couldn’t get the goal we needed and had to settle for a 0-0 draw today against a good Reddish Villa team.

Well played lads and still with it all to play for going into the final third of the season

Match Report by Gary Fitton

A 2-0 win for the A team in a good win and a 1-3 defeat for the B team in a difficult game with players having a go in new positions today.

Jan 28th 2012 – Waterloo AFC

Chaddy FC Jnrs B 1 – 3 Waterloo AFC B

Goals – George

MOM – Zack – worked hard and looked to take charge in defence today

With Daniel Johnson on loan to the A team we needed to work hard in the middle to compensate for that loss and so we started with 3 in midfield and 1 upfront but this made it difficult for Jake who prefers to play with a partner. The 3 in midfield worked hard but struggled to find Jake with the ball as he was the only outlet for them meaning the passes needed to be inch perfect to create the chances for him. This allowed the Waterloo defence to settle and get on top and build moves from the back. They did this effectively and were soon in front as they dominated the midfield with their defence pushing up and putting us under a lot of pressure.

The lads continued to battle but Waterloo stretched their lead and by the middle of the second half were 3 goals to the good. Credit to the lads who kept battling and George pulled one back with a left foot volley, but that was late in the game and gave us little time to pull it back further.

Unlucky lads in a tough game and let’s double our efforts in training for our next match.

Chaddy FC Jnrs A 2 – 0 Waterloo AFC A

Goals – Lewis, Louis

MOM – Lewis – Scored a great header today

A strange game this one. A game we dominated for much of the time and yet the scoreline of 2-0 suggests not and if Waterloo had scored their penalty it could have ended up as a draw!!!. The lads started the game strongly and created several chances but failed to convert them, until Lewis got on the end of a great cross and powered a header past the Waterloo keeper. An excellent goal and well deserved for the lads who continued to dominate the game despite us going in to half time only the one goal to the good.

Second half and we continued were we left off, but as time dragged on without the second goal Waterloo began to grow in confidence and started putting pressure on our back line. The pressure eventually paid off as Waterloo earned a penalty. Lucky for us the lad missed putting it wide and we quickly went up the pitch and scored a great goals as Louis did a quick 1,2 after a mazey run and put the ball into the bottom corner. The full time whistle blew shortly afterwards giving the lads a well deserved 2-0 win.

Another 2 difficult games played in difficult conditions as we exited the divisional cup

Jan 21st 2012 – Cheshire Boys

Chaddy FC Jnrs B 3 – 5 Cheshire Boys B
MOM – Jake – Worked hard today with 2 goals and 1 assist.
Goals – Jake x2, M. Bridgen

With a fierce wind and freezing cold conditions and against one of the divisions strongest sides the lads needing to be on their toes if we were to progress in the cup. The game started with both teams working hard but in the first couple of minutes a speculative shot from Cheshire boys caught us off guard and founds its way into the corner of the net which was not the start we needed. The lads restarted and pushed forward looking for an equaliser which soon came as Danny F picked up the ball in midfield and spread the play out wide to Jake. Jake then put an inch perfect cross to the back post for Michael to side foot into the empty net. 1-1 and a very evenly balanced game with both sides creating chances to take the lead, however it was Cheshire who got the second goal first and went into half time with a 2-1 lead.

Second half and the first goal would be important. An equaliser or a 3-1 lead. Sadly it was 3-1, but in very unfortunate circumstances as Josh slipped taking a goal kick, he then quickly got up and kicked the ball for a second time as he had made contact when slipping. The ref gave Cheshire a direct free kick on the edge of the box which they couldn’t miss, and didn’t. This rattled the lads and it soon become 4-1 to Cheshire which then led to a rousing fightback from the team. Danny F picked up the ball on the right and ran down beating his man before firing a cross into Jake who controlled the ball and turned it in to make it 4-2. Soon after Jake broke from midfield and buried his chance making it 4-3 as the lads fought back. Cheshire then struck back with a fifth and that is how it stayed despite us piling on the pressure and creating more chances.

Despite the 5 goals the defence worked hard today against a very mobile and physically strong Cheshire boys and credit goes to them for their improved defensive clearances which was worked on in training this week. They were unlucky today with a couple of the goals and continue to improve.

A great fightback today lads and if we can play like that from the start then WOW.

Chaddy FC Jnrs A 1 – 4 Cheshire Boys A
MOM – Luis – Worked hard in defence for the team today.
Goal - Dane

The A team needed to win by 3 clear goals for us to advance in the cup and got off to a great start when Dane fired us into the lead and therefore reducing the deficit to 2 goals. Unfortunately the lead didn’t last and Cheshire Boys struck back with an equaliser making it an uphill battle for the lads to get through to the next round. With the weather being as bad as the first game the ball needed to be kept on the ground which we did well but Cheshire were causing us problems at the back with good use of the space. As a result Cheshire took the lead making it 2-1 for the game and now 7-4 on aggregate.

Second half and Cheshire continued to pressure despite our hard work and soon increased their lead to 3 and then 4 – 1 making it game over in the cup for another year. The lads worked hard today and need to continue to work on passing and movement in training as we use the width of the pitch and release the earlier to the forwards. Connor worked hard making some good runs as did Ben who regularly came back to cover defence when we lost possession to help out. Luis and Oliver had a solid game at the back despite the score line and are improving with each game as a pairing.

Next week it is back to the league with a match against Waterloo so let’s work hard at training and get back to winning ways.

Match Report by Gary Fitton

Simply outstanding today as both teams played football to put Brazil to shame

Jan 14th 2011 – AFC Stanley

MOM – Adam – Great goal today from Adam.

Cup day today for the lads and what a display. Tough tackling, sublime skills, accurate passing, and deadly finishing made this a day to remember as all combined to create a lethal potion that simply mesmerised the crowd. With whoops and cheers being heard consistently through the opening period the lads started showboated their skills in front of an appreciative crowd.

It all sounds too good and sadly it was as we made a few changes that saw Ivan, Gary, and Darren enter the theatre of play, and oh what a mistake that was!!! Ivan spent more time on his backside than his feet costing us several goals with his 50p head and misplaced passes, Darren got his games mixed up and started carrying the ball upfield rugby style. As for Gary, well what can one say? Yup, absolutely nothing, shocking performance upfront with woeful shooting and shocking through balls that often went straight into touch.

Next week it is back to the league and the new boys can whistle if they think they will be seeing action again this season!!!

Come on you reds!!!!

Match report by Gary Fitton

2 very tough games today with the B team losing their unbeaten record for this season and the A team earning a hard fought draw.

Jan 7th 2012 – Cheshire Boys

Chaddy FC Jnrs B 0 – 1 Cheshire Boys B

MOM – Ben – Awesome in nets today for the lads.

A very tough game today for the lads in more ways than one so let us get the excuses in early.  No goalkeeper today so Ben filled in and was a superstar between the sticks, and a big jam in the car park left us down a couple of players to start and prevented a decent warm up. The game started with Chehire on top as we were slow to get going and that was our undoing as Cheshire got an early lead going 1-0 after pouncing on a rebound from an early shot. This woke the lads up but it didn’t happen today as we failed to convert a few chances today. The first coming near the end of the second half came as Danny F did a great one two with Michael but rather than take a touch he elected to let it run across his body and onto his weaker left foot and the chance was gone. We also struggled to clear our lines in the first half and need to work on clearences as they need to go further than they were getting today but we can work on that one quite easily. Half time and 0-1.

Second half and we started to come back creating several chances but luck was not with us as we had a good penalty shout and Jake saw a header come back off the crossbar. Next week is a cup match so lets all work hard in training and regain our winning ways.

Chaddy FC Jnrs A 1 – 1 Cheshire Boys A

MOM – Connor – Worked hard upfront today

Another tough game for the lads against a strong Cheshire Boys outfit in the second game of the day. The lads got a great start though as Connor converted an early cross as he stretched out and made contact to direct the ball into the net. The lads then continued to work hard as Dane, Lewis, and Connor all went looking for a second. Unfortunately we couldn’t get that second goal and as time wore on Cheshire started to come back at us and create problems for us at the back with good passing and movement. The lads defended strongly though and we maintained our lead going into half time.

Second half and we continued to work hard but it was Cheshire who got the next goal and equalised to make it 1-1. This increased their confidence as they pushed forward from midfield and created more chances only for Ben to pull off some fantastic saves to deny them a second goal. Going into the last 10 minutes Cheshire continued to create chances as we hit them on the counter but both teams failed to score the winner leaving the game as a well earned 1-1 draw.

Match Report by Gary Fitton

Two good wins today for the lads today as both teams kept clean sheets with the B team going in to Christmas undefeated in first 13 games of the 2011/12 season. 7 games left in the league in the New Year and everything to play for as the lads look for a top 3 finish.

Dec 10th 2011 – AFC Stanley

Chadderton FC Juniors B 3 – 0 AFC Stanley B

Goals – Jake x2, Daniel F

MOM – Daniel J – Held position and worked hard all game.

We started the season against AFC Stanley and that game was a 0-0 after the lads had given the cross-bar a right good battering!!! Today they instead found the back of the net and ran out comfortable 3-0 winners on a day were we had the kids playing in thermals, tops x3, fleeces, coats, hats, gloves, and a bib each. It was absolutely freezing today for them but as they have done before they soon warmed up and got the blood flowing around their bodies to turn in another solid performance.  The game started fairly even with both sides creating chances but it wasn’t long before the lads started take control and create more openings. The first came as Danny F controlled the ball and moved forward were Jake nipped across and put the ball into the bottom corner of the net. The second came soon after as Danny F sent a toe pecker into the bottom corner giving us a 2-0 lead which we held onto up to half time.

Second half and the wind was against us making it more difficult but we continued to keep up the pressure and soon got a third as Jake finished off a neat move to get his second of the game. At the back Ubaida and Rahim kept AFC Stanley clear of our goal as they intercepted the though balls and tackled their forwards as soon as they got possession. In midfield Danny J worked hard and held position well in a man of the match performance with both Michael and later on Danny F supporting him.

13 games out of 20 done for the season and the last competitive game before Christmas and the lads have won 10 and drawn 3 leaving them unbeaten in an excellent run that has seen them continue with their excellent progress which they started in the summer league. Well done lads and have a great Christmas.

Chadderton FC Juniors A 3 – 0 AFC Stanley A

Goals – Louis, Connor, Ben

MOM – Luis – Defended well helping to ensure we kept a clean sheet.

AFC Stanley had some big lads out there today and our suspicions were confirmed when towards the end of the game a set of car keys were retrieved from the pitch. Nobody owned up to them but we reckon their No7 was the owner of them. As per the first game we sent the lads on dressed for climbing Mount Everest which left them looking double their normal size but with the weather managing to get even worse they all needed it. The game started perfectly for us as we won possession and George sprinted up the pitch with the ball before putting a great ball in to Connor who quickly despatched the ball into the back of the net. Not long after Ben made it 2-0 to the lads as we piled pressure onto the AFC Stanley defence. We continued to press in the first half but it remained 2-0 as the half time whistle blew after Dane had sustained an unlucky arm injury when falling.

Second half and AFC Stanley came out on the offensive and pushed us hard where only a combination of bad luck and good saves from Josh prevented them from pulling a goal back. These scares provoked the lads into a response as Louis increased the lead with our third goal of the game making it 3-0, which is how the score remained as the game reached its conclusion. Another gritty performance from the lads today in awful conditions, and one which sees us sitting at the top of the league so well done today.

Match Report by Gary Fitton

Another 2 tough games today were both teams got the wins that have taken us to the top of the table.

Dec 3rd 2011 – Heyside U10s 1’s

Chaddy FC Jnrs B 2 – 1 Heyside U10s 1 B

Goals – George, Michael

MOM – George – A last gasp quality strike to seal the points today

A big change from the game earlier in the season were we took a comfortable 5-1 win. This time we came up against an outstanding goalkeeping display and a very determined Heyside team who took a deserved lead in the opening 10 minutes of the match as we were at 6’s and 7’s at the back. The conditions today were awful with a very strong wind that made goal kicks a lottery and benefitted the team with the wind behind it which was Heyside in the first half and Chaddy in the second. Heyside started well winning every ball and working well for each other and finding ways through our defence. Their goal came when we failed to mark properly in the box and allowed them a free strike on goal which they needed no second invitations to take. 0-1 and an uphill battle for us as we not only battled a strong Heyside team, but also that strong wind. The lads then began to click and created several chances with Jake, Danny F, and Danny J all seeing good shots saved by an excellent keeper who was having a stormer and keeping the lads out. Half time and 0-1 to Heyside with the lads told to hold their positions better as we often had both defenders and midfielders getting out of position and leaving gaps for Heyside to exploit.

Second half and we had the wind behind us and laid siege to the Heyside goal which was being protected by the keeper who was not letting us through. 10 minutes in and Michael finally got the equaliser as he out muscled their defender and sent an unstoppable drive into the top corner. 1-1 and a massive relief for the lads. We then moved Jake back into defensive midfield to add extra protection at the back as Heyside again came back at us looking for the winner making the last 10 minutes end to end and exciting to watch. It looked like 1-1 was on the cards but when the ball came in Danny F pushed the ball inside to George who steadied himself and sent a perfect curling shot into the top corner of the net making it 2-1 and kicking off a massive celebration by the lads. The ref then blew for full time informing us there were 3 seconds left when George hit the back of the net!!!

Well done lads on a great workman like performance

Chaddy FC Jnrs A 3 – 1 Heyside Juniors U10s 1 A

Goals – Connor, Reece, Lewis S

MOM – Ben – Great goalkeeping today from Ben

A good win today for the A team as they secured a 3-1 win with goals from Reece, Connor, and a debut goal from Lewis Scanlon. The game started with the wind against us making it difficult but we took hold of midfield and started creating openings for the front lads to exploit. Again like the first game Heyside made it tough as they fought for everything but our first goal came as their keeper made another good stop but failed to hold the ball allowing Reece to nip in and score. 1-0 to the lads and this is how it stayed until half time despite a lot of pressure as Louis and Majid worked hard to win possession and create chances for the forwards.

Second half and with the wind behind us we started to take more control of the game and it was no surprise when Lewis S got his first goal for the club as he picked up another rebound from the excellent Heyside keeper and placed the ball into the back of the net. 2-0 and looking more comfortable, or it was until the Heyside forward broke clear and scored a superb goal from a tight angle which went in off the inside of the far post to peg it back to 2-1. However straight from the kick off we pushed up and made it 3-1 as Connor grabbed our third and wrapped the game up for the lads sealing 4 points for the day and moving us to the top of the table which is a great achievement for the team this season.

Well done lads and let’s keep this fighting spirit going and keep the momentum going into the Christmas break.

Match report by Gary Fitton

A 4-0 win for the B team in another slick performance and a 0-2 defeat for the A team in a difficult game with players unfortunately forced to play out of position today.

Nov 26th 2011 – Waterloo AFC

Chaddy FC Jnrs B 4 – 0 Waterloo AFC B

Goals – Jake x3, Micheal

MOM – The whole team – Outstanding team performance where every player gave 110%.

BBC1 – 10:30pm on Saturday, BBC2 – 7:30am and 10:00pm. Those are the time slots for Match of the day this weekend and you won’t see anything better than what was witnessed today by those privileged enough to be there. Make no mistake Waterloo are a very good team which is why they are 3rd in the table and winning a lot of games, but today they came up against a Chaddy Juniors team in fine form who passed the ball with precision and finished with deadly accuracy which made this a very enjoyable game for us as coaches to watch.

The game started with the lads on the offensive and they somehow managed to keep that pace and tempo up all match as they mounted wave after wave of attacks. The first goal was a fortunate one though as Danny F picked up the ball on the left and passed it across the box were Michael running in hit the ball sweetly into the net (so sweetly that he did it using the force as he knew very little about it as it hit his leg and went into the corner of the net). The second goal was more conventional as George found Danny F with a great ball, Danny then had a shot on goal which the keeper failed to hold allowing Jake who followed in and put the rebound into the net (well done Jake for listening as we discussed this in training). The third goal came from a sweet through ball from Adam in midfield to Jake who needed no second chance as he buried the ball with a good strike making it 3-0 to the lads at half time.

Half time team talk we told the lads to be strong and not concede an early goal as Waterloo would come out fighting and so Rahim and Ubaida, helped by the midfield worked hard closing Waterloo down and ensuring they found no way through so we could get back on the offensive. A fourth goal came as Danny F now playing right midfield picked up the ball from another great move out of defence and played the ball across the face of goal were Jake collected his hat-trick and sewed up the game for us.

Another excellent display today were we defended from the front as Jake and Danny refused to allow the Waterloo defence to settle. Were the midfield controlled the game as George, Michael, and Adam worked to break up the play, with George making some great surging runs forward from midfield. And finally were the defence of Rahim and Ubaida ensured nothing got past them and ensured the team could move forward as they passed the ball well out of defence.

Chaddy FC Jnrs A 0 – 2 Waterloo AFC A

MOM – Oliver – Worked well in defence whilst under a lot of pressure

We had several players missing today with Lewis, Connor, and Reece all absent leaving us with no forward players meaning we had to switch it around and ask players to move out of their normal roles. Dane played upfront with Majid and Ben supporting Louis in midfield whilst Danny Johnson went out on loan to the A team and played both upfront and in midfield. Oliver and Luis played in defence as normal and both played well winning the ball and clearing it up field for the midfield to latch on to.

The game started fairly even but Waterloo held position better and as a result managed to get the upper hand using the width of the pitch better. Despite this we still worked hard with Louis putting in a strong shift as we started to create some chances for ourselves upfront. However Waterloo struck first with an excellent strike from their forward as he came in from the right and blasted the ball into the roof of the net making it 0-1. The game continued in the same vein with Danny Johnson coming on and working hard to create chances but we unfortunately failed to find the back of the net and Waterloo punished us for this by securing a second and making it 0-2. The lads refused to give up though and soon won a penalty as their lad caught the ball in the box believing it had crossed the line which fortunately for us it hadn’t. It wasn’t our day though as we didn’t convert the penalty but these things happen all the time (just ask Beckham) The lads continued to press but unfortunately ran out of time and Waterloo took the win.

Another tough game again today so lets switch on in training on Friday, listen, work hard, and concentrate on our positional play.

Match Report by Gary Fitton

Two 0-0 draws today for the teams with both coming up against a Spurley Hey that defended resolutely.

Nov 19th 2011 – Spurley Hey

Chaddy FC Jnrs B 0 – 0 Spurley Hey B

MOM – George – Worked hard and chased a few lost causes today.

A blank sheet today for the lads in a solid game were Spurley defended well and made things difficult for us. However we did create several chances but didn’t apply the finish which is unusual for us as we have been very reliable upfront this season. The team created chances in the first half with Jake firing a couple of shots in and Danny F meeting a cross with his left foot from a good ball in from Jake. At the back we won the ball but struggled to get the ball up quickly which made it difficult to push forward. We soon swapped things around and started to create chances but ran out of time leaving it 0-0 at half time.

Second half followed the same pattern as the first with us getting chances but not finding the back of the net. The closest we came was near the end when Danny F picked up the ball in the box and got and early shot off which brought an excellent save from the Spurley keeper.

A frustrating day today and we can play better, but 0-0 is still a good result for the team and gives us another point in the league. Training on Friday so lets continue to work hard and work on our skills and positioning to take us forward into the second half of the season.

Chaddy FC Jnrs A 0 – 0 Spurley Hey A

MOM – Ben – Worked well today for the team

Exactly the same as the first game with a 0-0 scoreline and the defences on top in a game of very few chances. And like the first game we didn’t clear the lines as efficiently as normal which of course made it more difficult for us to create many clear cut chances. Spurley defended well and restricted our chances as they kept close to our forwards and made life difficult for us. 0-0 at half time with the lads asked to step up the pace in the second half.

Second half and we started to create chances and put pressure on the Spurley defence as the game opened up a little. Both teams now had chances to score as the ball was moved quicker with Lewis getting a couple of shots off and Spurley responding by hitting the crossbar. But today was not to be and as per the first game this one also finished 0-0 despite the best efforts of both teams.

Match report by Gary Fitton

Two wins today for the lads as the A team won a hard fought match and the B team continued their excellent run of form in another pulsating match.

Nov 12th 2011 – Reddish Villa
Chaddy FC Jnrs B 4 – 1 Reddish Villa B
Goals – Jake x2, Michael, Daniel F

MOM – Daniel Fitton – Worked hard and took the training ground work onto the pitch today.

Stunning performance today  from the lads as they put in their best performance of the season so far against  a very good Reddish Villa team. The game started badly for us as we looked all out of sorts and gifted Reddish an early goal as we failed to hold position and  allowed them to cut us open through the middle. 0-1 after a couple of minutes putting the lads in the unusual position of going a goal down so how would they
react to this early blow? The answer was in emphatic style as they rolled up their sleeves, sorted themselves out and went on the offensive looking to put  the early goal behind them. It didn’t take long for the equaliser to come as Danny F hooked the ball over the defenders head onto Jake who did the same onto Michael who then hit a first time volley into the net. 1-1 and a great way to pull level. Soon after we took the lead with a goal straight from the training ground on Friday night. The ball was moved across the pitch, put down the line for Jake who then switched the ball back into the box were Danny F came running in to put a first time drive into the corner of the net.

Second half and the lads continued were they left off and piled the pressure on the Reddish defence as George, Michael, and Danny J took charge in midfield and urged the forwards on. The third goal came courtesy of Jake as he put away a goal mouth scramble and the fourth was again down to Jake who hassled the Reddish defence causing them all sorts of difficulties today. Reddish Villa played a lot through their lad
upfront but Zack, Rahim, and Ubaida stuck to the task and ensured the lad was kept quiet, and it was that solid base at the back that allowed the lads upfront to create chances and more importantly take them.

Well done lads and lets make sure we keep this up and more importantly keep smiling!

Chaddy FC Jnrs A 3 – 2 Reddish Villa A
Goals – J, Louis, Reece

MOM – Dane – Played out of position and worked hard all match

A first for the A team today in that we had a full squad of players meaning we could rotate the players a little more and allow players to move into positions they would like to play. The game started on the wrong foot as per the first game with Reddish taking an early lead as their front lads outpaced us at the back. A quick ball forward from them saw their forward take the ball past our defence and fire the ball home past Josh. 0-1 and like the first game the lads needed to dig deep and fight back which they did as we responded with a goal from Louis. The game was
end to end and could go either way as both team created chances to take the lead with Josh making some smart saves to keep the scores level. Eventually though we took the lead when Louis did a flick header which the goalkeeper caught but then the ball squirmed out of his hands and into the net. A lucky goal for us and we all felt sorry for the lad in nets.

Half time and 2-1 to Chaddy.

Second half and lightening struck twice as the lads conceded another early goal allowing Reddish to pull the game level at 2-2. After this setback the lads picked themselves up with Louis and Dane working hard to try and get a winner for us. Both teams again created chances with Josh again pulling off some good saves to keep us in the game as Reddish pushed for a winner to take the 2 points. However it was Chaddy who got the decisive goal as we hit Reddish on the break and fired in a shot which the Reddish keeper blocked but could not hold allowing Reece to pounce on the rebound and make it 3-2 to the lads.

A good win for the team today against a good Reddish team.

The pair of wins have kept us in touch with Delamere at the top who lead on goal difference, and to keep there we will need to continue to perform as this is a tough league and packed with strong teams.

Well done to all the lads !!!!

Match report by Gary Fitton

A win and a draw today for the lads as the team retained second in the table against a decent Mossley team. Both teams worked hard with the goalkeepers

Nov 5th 2011 – Mossley Juniors

Chaddy FC Jnrs B 3 – 0 Mossley Juniors B

Goals – Jake, Michael, Daniel F

MOM – Daniel Johnson – Ran a marathon today

After the soaking the night before at training we expected the lads to turn up a little on the flat side after a good wringing out on the mangle. But nope, these lads don’t know the meaning of flat and fizzed on the pitch once again as they took a 3-0 win that was only half the story. The Mossley keeper pulled of a string of outstanding saves today and stopped this being a higher score so full credit to the lad as he was awesome.

First half and we broke through several times with Jake firing off some good shots as the lads found him with some quick passing and lay offs. The first goal came when Jake shot from a very tight angle which their keeper got a hand to but only managed to push it onto a Mossley defender and Danny F who bundled it over the line. Both players were claiming the goal so in the end I took the cowards way out and walked off leaving them to argue about it ;) Half time and 1-0 to the lads.

Second half and the lads continued to pressure the Mossley defence as Danny J and Michael both took hold of midfield and pushed the team onwards looking for a second goal. The second goal came when Danny F latched onto a ball in midfield and passed the ball into the space behind the Mossley defence where Michael ghosted in from the side a slid the ball past the Mossley keeper. The lads were now on song and working hard for each other as they passed the ball around and made the runs into space. Eventually a third came as Jake picked up the ball in midfield and switched the ball into the middle were Danny F despatched a first time shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Another excellent display from the lads today and we need to keep this level of performance up.

Chaddy FC Jnrs A 0 – 0 Mossley Juniors A

MOM – Josh – Top class display today from Josh

A very tough game today as we had to mix the team up due to 3 players missing from the A team. In stepped George and Zack and both worked hard with George playing midfield and upfront as Zack filled in at the back and did an excellent job as Mossley bombarded our defence as they flooded the midfield with 4 players.

Louis worked hard in midfield today but with Mossley having the greater numbers in the middle it was a hard task and he couldn’t do it all alone no matter how hard he tried. Mossley broke through time and again but often found Zack in their way or Josh who was outstanding in the nets today with some superb finger tip saves and solid handling. Despite Mossley being on top we did create several chances ourselves as Louis found Connor and George with some good balls forward but the Mossley defence held firm and made it difficult for us to find a way through to test the goalkeeper. Half time and 0-0.

Second half carried on in the same vein as the first with the lads under pressure and Josh making more great saves as we kept the Mossley offence out. On the couple of occasions they did beat Josh they hit the woodwork, but I am sure Josh had it covered ;) A tough game today and a very valuable point earned by the lads that keeps us in second place in the table.

Match report by Gary Fitton

A pair of wins today for the lads as the team moved up to second in the table. Both teams played some excellent football as they took the training ground work on to the pitch.

Oct 22nd 2011 – Heyside U10s 1

Chaddy FC Jnrs B 5 – 1 Heyside U10s 2 B

Goals – Jake x3, George, Daniel F

MOM – Zack Smith – A solid game at the back today from Zack

A lot of goals today in both matches so remembering them all is a task far too large for my meagre mental capacity unfortunately. First up was Jake with a brace of goals as he ran in from the right and scored into the left corner of the goal. Both goals came early in the game and settled the lads nerves as they got down to playing football although after training on Friday I think some found the ball to be on the large side ;) Heyside regained their poise and came back into the game as we lost some of our shape and scored a well worked goal to make the score 2-1, which is how it remained until half time.

After another one of our inspirational half time team talks the lads went back out and looked dazed and confused wondering what all that gibberish meant. But despite that handicap we had thrust upon them, they switched on their far superior brains and went on the attack looking for a third goal to put the match to bed. The goal came when the Red Sea parted in front of George to allow him to run in and take a shot which hit the crossbar, then bounced down over the line, then hit the keeper on the way back out, then went back over the line, then bounced out and finished with Jake putting it back in just to make sure. But the goal was all Georges and well deserved aswell. The fourth goal came courtesy of Danny F as he converted a cross from Jake with a first time hit. The fifth gave Jake his hat trick as he lurked on the back post and converted a rebound from an initial shot in the box.

Another superb display from the lads today as the defence with Zack and Rahim held solid, George and Daniel in midfield defended well and supported the attack who went on to score 4 goals as they terrorised the Heyside defence.

Chaddy FC Jnrs A 6 – 0 Heyside Juniors U10s 1 A

Goals – Connor x3, Reece x2, Ben

MOM – Majid – A composed display from Majid today

Following on from the first game the A team continued the good work of the B team and scored another 6 to help our goal difference in the league. Ben opened the scoring nipping in behind the Heyside defence to slot a quick through ball from Louis home. The early goal again helped the lads as Reece and Connor took turns to find the back of the net today with Connor putting in an impressive display as he helped himself to a hat trick.

The lads dominated the game from start to finish laying siege to the Heyside goal with Louis working hard in midfield as he created chances for the team and himself. Majid played in both forward and defensive rolls doing well in both as he worked to create chances for Connor upfront who made no mistake in front of goal as he collected our second hat trick of the day. In goals Josh had very little to do today which was probably a relief for him as he has been kept busy recently and produced some outstanding saves for the team but had little opportunity to pull off some saves for the cameras today. The cameras were mainly directed upfront with Reece scoring an excellent goal as he won the ball on the left and moved in on goal before whacking the ball into the corner and Conner scoring a couple of first time hits.

In summary this was an excellent performance from the team and moves us up the table with both teams taking maximum points on the day.

Latest match report by Gary Fitton

Back on the grass at Martin Fields with both teams putting in great displays to gain 3 points for us today.

Oct 15th 2011 – Medlock Rangers

Chaddy FC Jnrs B 3 – 0 Medlock Rangers B

Goals – Jake, Daniel J, and Michael

MOM – Rahim – Great display at the back today.

The B team hit the ground running today with 2 early goals which relaxed the nerves and ensured the lads continued their excellent run of games in the league. The first goal came as Jake got onto a through ball and ran in on goal before shooting into the bottom corner. The second came as Daniel J turned and shot in the box beating the Medlock keeper again hitting the bottom corner of the net. We then had the ball in the net a third time as Danny F pounced on a goalkeeping error to score, but unfortunately the goal was disallowed. Adam was next up as he saw his shot come back off the post as the lads dominated the first half not allowing Medlock any time or space.

Second half and Medlock pushed forward more but the lads at the back and in midfield coped well with the goal threats and protected the lead well. Sensing we could get more goals the lads pushed forward and started to pile the pressure on the Medlock defence as we started firing shots in on goal. We finally got our third as Michael picked up the ball in midfield and ran through before planting the ball in the back of the net. 3-0 and that is how it stayed after another excellent performance from the lads. The football was less flowing than normal but the pitch was much smaller forcing us to play a much tighter and stronger game than we normally would on the bigger 3g pitches. It was good to see the lads play a stronger game and again shows how much they are improving.

Chaddy FC Jnrs A 1 – 1 Medlock Rangers A

Goal – Dane

MOM – Ben – Worked hard and covered a lot of ground today

As we saw in the summer league games against Medlock Rangers are tough physical games and today was no exception. The game was a close affair as both teams put in strong challenges to win possession and mount attacks on the opposition goal.

Medlock had the better of the opening exchanges but the lads held firm at the back and restricted the forwards to half chances and long range shots, but Chaddy soon started to turn the tables and take control of the midfield with Louis working hard to ensure we won possession and moved forward. The breakthrough came when Louis smashed a shot in on goal that then took a massive deflection off Dane and into the net. 1-0 to the lads and it remained that way as we defended resolutely and hit Medlock on the break being very unlucky not to extend our lead as we broke through the Medlock defence but came up against an excellent keeper who made some stunning saves.

Second half and we continued to work hard but Medlock started pumping the ball forward quickly and early as they again started playing on the break. It was via this route that Medlock secured a late equaliser as their lad ran onto a through ball and slotted the ball past Josh making it 1-1. The full time whistle blew not long after their equaliser meaning the teams shared the points on this occasion. Well played lads.

Latest match report by Gary Fitton

Back on the 3G this week and a much bigger pitch than last week. The B team as can be read below were fantastic today and are really gelling together now with all of them playing with a smile.

Oct 8th 2011 – Heyside U10s 2

Chaddy FC Jnrs B 2 – 0 Heyside U10s 2 B

Goals – Jake

MOM – Micheal Bridgen – As voted for by the whole team

The team was back to normal today with Jake and Danny back in the fold as the lads looked to continue their amazing start to the season. Heyside 2 were unbeaten going into this game in the league as were Chaddy, and impressively Heyside had yet to concede a single goal.

The game started well with both sides evenly matched as both teams searched for any weakness in the opposition to exploit. Chaddy gradually started to find a way through the Heyside defence as the lads passed the ball quickly and accurately finding space behind the Heyside back line. The first goal was a simple but superbly executed goal. Danny F took a quick corner to Danny J who whipped the ball over for Jake to run onto and nonchalantly head into the net from close range. 1-0 and well deserved as the lads worked hard for each all over the pitch.

Second half and Chaddy started to grow in confidence and went looking for a second goal to ease the nerves as Heyside made life difficult with some very good play. The lads eventually got the second goal which again came from superb approach play. Danny F picked up the ball in midfield, ran down the left and then lifted the ball over the onrushing defender down the line to Adam. Adam then pulled the ball inside and squared it across the box picking out a very grateful Jake who smashed the ball into the net making it 2-0 to the lads.

The lads have kept their unbeaten start to the league and they kept it by playing some wonderful football. This has come about because they turn up for training week in, week out and when there they work hard and listen. More importantly though they play with a smile, they play as a team, they talk on the pitch, and the NEVER EVER criticise each other. Instead they encourage each other to do their best and the results are happening as a result of that. Keep it up lads and don’t ever change that work rate and positive attitude.

Chaddy FC Jnrs A 1 – 2 Heyside Juniors U10s 2 A

Goal – Louis Hammond

MOM – Oliver – Listened and learned. Well done Oliver

3 defeats in a row now for the A team but an improved performance over last week with a full team available today. Luis slotted back in the left side of defence and Oliver moved into the right side. Both worked well today and held their positions better ensuring the opposition had far less space than last week. The defence was further reinforced by Majid as we played Louis in midfield and combined Conner and Dane up front.

The game started well again with both teams being even in the opening exchanges as we looked to prise open the Heyside defence. However as the game progressed Heyside started to get on top and it came as no surprise when they got the opening goal from short range to make it 0-1. Heyside soon made it 0-2 with a high long range shot that just slipped through Josh’s fingers in the goal (the ball being very wet didn’t help). From the restart Louis and George combined well and created our goal as they did a very slick interchange of passes that opened up the Heyside defence for Louis to score and make it 1-2. Unfortunately we couldn’t kick on from there and if anything Heyside were unlucky not to have gone further ahead with Ben doing some heroic defending when Heyside had 4 on 1 in one particular attack.

An improvement on last week but still work to be done in training so we can get back to our best.

Latest match report provided by Gary Fitton

First game on grass for the season today with 2 very contrasting performances from the 2 teams

Oct 1st 2011 – Delamere Rangers
Chaddy FC Jnrs B 1 – 1  Delamere Rangers B
Goal – Rahim Miah
MOM – Daniel Johnson – Ran his socks off today – fantastic display

We had to swap things round today by moving Connor and Dane into the first game and Danny and Jake into the second game. The
lads kicked off and worked hard against a strong Delamere team pushing them in midfield and working to create openings upfront for Connor and Dane. Daniel and Michael both worked hard in midfield with Daniel running non-stop all day putting in 100% effort for the team. The team were creating chances but nothing clear cut, and then Rahim clearly thinking enough is enough and placed the ball into the top corner with a shot from 40yds (his own box) that bounced over the keepers head and in. 1-0 and the lads started to pressure the Delamere defence as we built from the back and began to create more chances. Dane smacked one against the crossbar in a mad scramble and Adam unleashed a fantastic shot that was well saved by the Delamere keeper.

Second half and we continued to pressure the Delamere defence but couldn’t get the second goal. As we pushed forward Delamere broke away and Ubaida made a fantastic finger tip save. Unfortunately he wasn’t the keeper and Delamere were awarded the penalty which
Josh did his duty on and saved (nice one josh). Going into the final minutes and we were in control of the game and then the Delamere forward smashed the ball after a clearance the flew into the top of the net. It was a cruel blow to the lads and it was too late for us to find a winner.
1-1 and another strong team performance from the lads. Keep it up.

Chaddy FC Jnrs A 2 – 8 Delamere Rangers A
Goals – Louis Hammond, Jake O Donnell
MOM – Jake – Worked hard today and deserved his goal.

Where does one start with this game? A hot day, no subs, defender missing, forwards not used to playing in the A team? Lots
of excuses but that would be unfair on the opposition who ripped us apart at the back scoring with almost every move forward.
The main issues for the team are issues we have discussed and have achieved with the B team, namely holding your position which is important for creating space and not getting dragged in to the middle. Clear the ball down the line when on the line and not clearing it
into the middle of pitch, doing that sends the ball straight to the opposition who move forward into the large gap left in the middle. We need to use the width of the pitch to spread the play and we also need to clear the ball early rather than try to dribble out of defence. Moving the ball forward it needs to be done quickly and early which is exactly what we have been doing in our training routines. The front lads work best when running at the defence with the ball sent in early. They struggle in a crowded box however we need to practise first time shots more in training as we missed several chances with wayward shooting in the box that needs to improve considerably. Not the most positive of  reports but those who watched the game know where I am coming from with this one. The B team are playing as a team, they are listening to the coaches, and they are now getting better results in their matches. We now need that same effort from the lads in the A team because we all know how good you can be, but to achieve that we need effort in training and in the matches from all of you.
Latest Match Report by Gary Fitton

Today was first round of the primary cup time again, and you all know what that means!!!. We get drawn against the EMJFL division 1 top dogs. Last year it was Reddish Vulcan, the year before a rampant Spurley Hey, and this year we had the pleasure of Dukinfield Youth in round 1. Next year we will probably welcome Barcelona onto the pitch in Round 1!

Sept 23rd 2011 – Dukinfield Youth
Chaddy FC Jnrs B 0 – 2 Dukinfield Youth B
MOM – Danny F – Did exactly as asked to do which is suprising after the knock out the night before.

A really tough game for the team today against Dukinfield Youth who along with Reddish Vulcans are the top two in the EMJFL U10s divisions. But as with previous games they did us proud with the Ducky Youth management complimenting the 2 teams as they went out and played football. On to the game and started slowly giving them to much respect and leading to a couple of early openings for
Dukinfield. The lads soon sorted that out and started to play football and began to mount attacks on the Dukinfield goal with Micheal, Jake, and Danny all putting some great one touch moves together to open up the Dukinfield defence. Against the run of play Dukkinfield scored the opener with a simple goal as we left their man unmarked to make it 0-1. To their credit the lads restarted the
game and continued to play and push forward with more chances created as we got shots off but hit the side netting on 2 or 3 occasions as the one/twos in practise started to come off on the pitch. The defence again coped well and made it difficult for the opposition as they got challenges in early and cleared the ball quickly. With the midfield also tracking back we made it hard for
Dukinfield as the lads continued to impress. Late on in the second half Dukinfield got a second as they got past our last line of defence and wrapped the game up. Well played lads as you excelled today giving Dukinfield a really tough game.

Chaddy FC Jnrs A 1 – 5 Dukinfield Youth A
Goal – Connor Nolan
MOM – Louis – Never gave up and a credit to the team.

Another difficult game with Dukinfield controlling large parts of it as they held their shape and passed the ball quickly and accurately. The lads worked hard and never gave up with Louis fighting for every ball in the middle of the park and
deserved a goal when he unleashed a powerful snap shot which the Dukinfield goalkeeper did superbly to push over the bar.
It was backs to the walls though for a lot of the game with Oliver and Majid getting a very difficult workout at the back as Dukinfield attacked, however they were vulnerable at the back to a quick break with us catching them out several times as Connor raced
onto long through balls. It was via this route that we scored are goal as Connor picked up the ball on the half way line and beat his man before planting the ball into the back of the net passed the onrushing goalkeeper. The lads can learn from this however as Dukinfield played it simple and played it well and I  know our players have that ability. We just keep working hard at training on the
routines and it will come.

Congratulations Ivan on your marriage to Carol on 17th September 2011. And whilst Ivan was away getting married the lads in the red and
black of chaddy were out on the pitch getting lashed on in the rain working to give him a wedding present money simply cannot buy. Enjoy the honeymoon Ivan.

Sept 17th 2011 – Cheshire Boys

2 Excellent performances today from the lads, despite Dane losing a leg, Daniel a rib, and Luis a head. But heh like I said these lads give their all for Chaddy….

Chaddy FC Jnrs B 1 – 0 Cheshire Boys B

Goal – Micheal Bridgen

MOM – Ubaida – Quality performance at the back today.

A great display from the team today which was not reflected in the score line above as we dominated possession for long periods of the game. The Cheshire Boys keeper pulled off some great saves denying the lads but we also need to work harder in training in front of goal to convert more of our beautifully crafted opportunities.

Similar to last week the defence held rock solid as Rahim, Ubaida, and Zack kept a second clean sheet for the team, and if they can keep this level of performance up we are going to be a difficult team to beat this season. In the middle George, Daniel J and half of Micheal all worked hard to protect the defence and support the attack which comprised of Jake, Daniel F, Adam and the other half of Michael J. The first half saw wave after wave of attacks but with no goal, so the half time team talk was about getting the ball forward quickly and getting our shots off early.

Second half and the lads took what we said onto the pitch and soon got a goal as an exquisite through ball from George picked out Michael who slid the ball into the net. 1 –0 to the lads and how it remained that way I don’t know. We piled on the pressure but the Cheshire goalkeeper made some excellent saves to keep us out and keep the score line down to 1 – 0 at full time and 2 points for the team.

Chaddy FC Jnrs A 0 – 0 Cheshire Boys A

MOM – Josh – Great saves, great hands, great kicking =  QUALITY

A tough game for the team today with several players having to come off for some TLC. Luis for a clash of heads and Dane for a knee in the side of his leg to add to Daniel J from the first match.  The game started at a brisk pace as we started with 8 men on the pitch (OOPS!!!) but we soon corrected that and went down to 7. I blame Ivan for that one!

Today was a much harder game than last week with Cheshire being a much more physical team making it difficult for us to play our passing game. They also were playing a long ball game with 3 upfront ensuring we had to change our tactics to plug the hole at the back. Luis
and Oliver both worked hard but needed Majid pulling back to steady the middle were Cheshire had been outnumbering us. Unfortunately Cheshire managed to get the first goal making it difficult for us as they were defensively strong and difficult to break down. I blame Ivan for that one as well!

Refusing to give up the lads worked tirelessly to find an equaliser which eventually came as Dane lashed an unstoppable drive into the roof of the net making it 1-1 and an excellent point for the lads. Today’s game move us up to 4th in the table with 2 games in hand on all the teams above us which is a good start to the season. Next up are Duckinfield Youth in the cup who are full of academy players, but I am sure the lads will give it all and maybe even spring a surprise.

By Gary

Wehay. We have a brand spanking new website to feast your eyes upon as a new season awaits the lads who give their all for the red and black of Chaddy FC Juniors. This season we also have a few new players so a very big hello to Jake, Luis, and Oliver and a sad goodbye to Jack, and we wish him all the best at his new club (I have a voodoo doll in reserve just in case we ever play them!!!)

And so the time has come to resurrect the match reports after an absence of 1 year and I know you are all full of anticipation as to what delights they will contain. However I have aged badly in the last year and the brain has lost what little edge it had left so don’t be surprised to read how Josh scored an incredible hat-trick, or how Connor pulled of a series of miracle saves as he tipped the ball over the bar.

Sept 3rd 2011 – AFC Stanley

What more can one say? An excellent performance today with a superb hat-trick from Josh and a string of quality saves from Connor in nets……

Chaddy FC Jnrs B 0 – 0 AFC Stanley B
MOM – Jake – Ran himself into the ground today so well done.

Crossbar Challenge – Chaddy FC Jnrs B 2 – 0 AFC Stanley B
Crossbars – Daniel Fitton – 1, Reece Newton – 1

The opening game was a frustrating one for us today. The lads dominated the game but just couldn’t find the back of the net due to a combination of hitting the crossbar and AFC Stanley constantly having 4/5 men behind the ball. The defence held up well for us today and dealt with the few attacks Stanley had with Zack, Ubaida, and Rahim all putting in important challenges and interceptions to keep the clean sheet.

Further up field Jake and Daniel worked hard with Daniel being the first to score a hit on the crossbar challenge as a looping volley from 20 yards beat the keeper before hitting the bar. The lads continued to press forward and should have had a penalty for hand ball that wasn’t given which sort of summed our luck up as the half finished 0-0.

Second half and it was all one way traffic with Reece taking his turn to earn a point in the crossbar challenge with one hitting the bar from the edge of the area and bouncing down on the line. Jake who worked tirelessly terrorised Stanley down the right putting in several crosses and shots which on another day surely would have resulted in a couple of goals. Alas we could not break the deadlock despite a 5 man offensive line As Daniel J and Micheal joined the fray. It was a good performance today in a game we were unlucky not to win. However I feel we need to get the ball upfront much quicker to give the front lads more space to run into and get more clear cut chances on goal.

Chaddy FC Jnrs A 6 – 2 AFC Stanley A
Goals – Louis – 3, Connor – 1, Dane – 1, George – 1
MOM – Louis – Great display and a great hat-trick

No trouble finding the net in this game although we needed a bit of juggling from Dane for the first goal as he kocked the ball over the defenders head and then the keepers head on the second attempt and into the net.

Louis then followed this up with a solo run and a cracking strike into the top corner of the net to make it 2-0 to the lads before a defensive lapse allowed AFC Stanley in to pull one back and make it 2-1. The rest was short lived for Stanley though as Louis scored from the restart and then bagged his hat-trick in the second half. The team was now dominating the midfield as Louis strength combined with Georges craft to carve open the Stanley defence over and over again, however Stanley refused to give up and soon came back and pulled another goal back to make it 4-2. Again as before the lads pushed forward and George soon collected a goal for himself getting on the end of a through ball from Louis, and with the game coming to a close Connor picked up a goal to make the final score 6-2 to the lads.

Today was a great display and we need to keep this level of performance up throughout the season if we are to do well in what is a very tough league this year.
